Hygiene at school thanks to FIABA
Nov 02 2022The training of the FIABA project (Training on Hygiene, Nutrition and Pupils Wellbeing on the theme of correct hygiene practices) began in two of the five municipalities involved in the project, Che La and Nam Dan.
By involving all teachers working in the schools of the five municipalities, these trainings aim not only to teach what good hygiene practices are, but also to ensure that teachers are able to pass them on to their pupils effectively. In fact, each teacher will be a trainer for the pupils, conducting awareness campaigns in April.
Each course lasted two days: from 5 to 8 March a total of 60 teachers were involved. Of the participants, 42 were women and 18 men. More than 20% belong to an ethnic minority.
The training of Nam Dan was attended by 30 teachers, including 25 women and 5 men, who work in 7 seven kindergartens and 6 primary schools. About 25% of the total belongs to ethnic minorities. 30 teachers have always participated in the training at Doan Ket, 17 women and 13 men. They work in a total of 10 kindergartens and 9 primary schools. 20% of the total belongs to an ethnic minority.
In addition to correct hygiene practices, the course contents also include modules to ensure that teachers are able to use educational material for children, such as images that indicate which behaviors are correct and which are not, and to independently create campaigns to raise awareness on the issue.
Three more courses have been planned, which will take place by the end of the month. We will continue to follow them and keep you updated on the progress.
