Updates from the Distance Support program (SAD)
Dec 02 2022As in previous years, in these first months of 2022 we have dedicated a lot of energy and effort to supporting the 103 Vietnamese children supported at a distance.
Last week we managed to complete the distribution of the first ration of rice for six months to all the families participating in the program and residing in the municipalities of Coc Pai, Ta Nhiu and Nam Dan.
For many it is now a regular appointment, for us a demanding activity that repays us in gratitude and satisfaction. However, in recent times this type of interventions are increasingly difficult; we had to deal with a still complex health situation, characterized by the increase in infections from Covid-19 even in the rural areas of the country and by the important restrictive measures in force (such as demonstrates yet another school closure). In addition, some of the families supported are currently in quarantine for cases of positive virus.
A special thanks goes to the local authorities, who assisted us during the distribution phase and who continue to place a lot of trust and support in our work.
In the hope that the situation will improve soon, we still have many activities planned to be able to carry out effective and truly tangible support; in the coming months, school supplies and more rice will be delivered to children and, finally, the construction of new sanitary systems (in particular toilets) in schools and private homes is also planned.
We will be happy to update you on future developments as usual.
